Have we all recovered from Thanksgiving and Black Friday yet? Do you see how Bud is reacting to the monster on the TV in today’s panel? Well, that is how we feel about going to the mall on Black Friday! From now until Christmas, we want to hide from the throngs of holiday shoppers who are walking the mall like zombies in a Halloween horror movie!
Hiding isn’t really a viable option. What do you recommend we do to better prepare ourselves for the holidays?
Recycling Your Halloween Costume For A Good Cause
November 1st, 2010 | by Oh, Brother! It’s the morning after Halloween and your costume is rolled up in a ball on your bedroom floor. If it is, you better hang it up before your Mom finds it there!
In today’s panel, Bud finds a unique use for yesterday’s Halloween mask. Do you have any cool ideas on ways you can reuse and recycle your Halloween costume? We would love to hear your ideas! If you don’t know what to do with it, we have a suggestion.
Every Halloween, there are countless children in need who don’t have a Halloween costume. If you want to help a fellow child, you can do so by donating your Halloween costume! Simply mail your costume to the Mother Nature Network, and they will make sure that a child in need gets your cool costume in time for next Halloween.
Ask your parents or caregiver to mail your used costume to:
Mother Nature Network

There is no nicer feeling than giving something away to someone who will truly appreciate your thoughtful generosity.

Bud is a monster and Lily is a witch … only on Halloween, of course! This doesn’t describe their personalities every day!
What are you going to dress as for Halloween this year? Do you remember your first Halloween costume? If so, what were you? Do you have an all-time favorite Halloween costume?
Avast ye scalliwags: yesterday was International Talk Like A Pirate Day! Whether you are a fan of Captain Jack Sparrow or just like to talk silly, talking like a pirate is one sure way to earn some very funny looks from your family, friends, classmates and loved ones.
Since we missed telling you about it yesterday, here is a quick tutorial on talking like a pirate, in case you want to start practicing for next year … or maybe even Halloween!
Ahoy! – “Hello!”
Avast! - Stop and give attention. It can be used in a sense of surprise, “Whoa! Get a load of that!” which today makes it more of a “Check it out” or “No way!”
Aye! – “Why yes, I agree most heartily with everything you just said or did.”
Aye aye! – “I’ll get right on that, sir, as soon as my break is over.”
Arrr! – This one is often confused with arrrgh, which is, of course, the sound you make when something makes you angry like being given a homework assignment over the weekend. “Arrr!” can mean, variously, “yes,” “I agree,” “I’m happy,” ”My team is going to win it all,” and “That was a clever remark you or I just made.”
